No, you do not need to have completed a theory test before taking a CBT. But we expect you to have read the highway code and an understanding of the rules of the road.
We run compulsory basic training courses 7 days a week. Courses start at 8:45am, please be punctual, arriving late could result in your course being cancelled.
CBT training courses were introduced in December 1990 with the aim of improving road safety and reducing motorcycle accidents. A CBT is not a test, its a basic training course that teaches you how to safely ride on the road. A CBT course certificate can however be withheld if the instructor assesses that after receiving training your riding does not meet minimum standards.
Courses are no more than two students at a time, one to one training is available at additional cost.
You will need a UK driving license, a motorcycle helmet that meets British safety standards, a pair of good boots, a pair of motorcycle gloves and a sturdy, warm jacket and trousers, ideally designed for motorcycle use. A pair of good quality jeans is acceptable as a minimum. We want you to be safe and comfortable, so encourage you to be suitably dressed. We reserve the right to stop the training if you are not suitably dressed. No refund will be offered.
A compulsory basic training course is a full day. Courses start at 8:45am and usually finish around 4pm.
No, your training will be carried out using our bikes.
